Carol Kerr ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Mystic Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.Carol Kerr, 62, of Mystic, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on 12 March 2026 in the arms of her Savior after a heroic six-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family, with her devoted husband, Brian, faithfully by her side. Carol was born on July 7, 1963, in Morristown, New Jersey.A 1981 graduate of Randolph High School in Randolph, New Jersey, Carol met the love of her life, Brian Kerr, during her high school years - beginning a lifelong journey filled with love, devotion, and adventure. What started as a senior prom date grew into a 44-year marriage and a fulfilling life as a proud Navy wife and mother, journeying alongside Brian through many duty stations across the eastern United States. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Brian; her dearly loved sister, Desiree, and her father, Herman Wertheim, and his wife, Sharon Ring. She was predeceased by her mother, Ellen Wertheim.Carol's four sons - Michael (wife Nicole and their three sons Noah, Riley, and Colton), Kevin (fiancée Carolyn), David, and Kyle (girlfriend Mia) - were her pride and joy. She cherished her family deeply and always ensured that her loved ones were cared for and surrounded by warmth. Her family will forever remember her generosity and her unmatched cooking skills. She also loved visits from her "grand dog," Lola, Kyle's Boston Terrier, who quickly stole a place in her heart. She found happiness in dancing, dining out around the Mystic area, and sharing a glass of red wine with Brian. She loved time by the Jersey Shore, sailing and dining in Newport, Rhode Island, trips to Boston, and flying to Las Vegas to visit her father. One of her most cherished traditions was the family's annual trip to Panama City Beach, Florida, where they gathered in a beachfront resort overlooking the Gulf of Mexico - days filled with love, laughter, and memories that will last forever.Carol's kindness, strength, and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her family will forever be grateful for the precious time they shared and the example of love and grace she left behind.A private, family service will be held at a later date.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
