Carol (Rogasky) KallenbachBRISTOLCarol (Rogasky) Kallenbach, 90, of Stafford Springs and formerly of Bristol, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 5, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard F. Kallenbach Jr., who predeceased her in 2010. Born in Bristol on March 29, 1935, Carol was the daughter of the late Chester and Genevieve (Gyzenski) Rogasky. A proud graduate of the Bristol school system and Bates College, she returned to her hometown to begin a long and meaningful career in education. Carol first taught English and later Spanish at Bristol Central High School, where she touched the lives of countless students with her kindness and patience. Carol cherished the close-knit circle of friends she made in Terryville. Their weekly Tuesday lunches at the former Sylvia's Diner and their monthly birthday dinners were traditions she thoroughly enjoyed. She also looked forward to the annual trips to Mexico that she and her husband, Dick, enjoyed with their dear friends, the Polks. Before moving to Stafford Springs, Carol was adevout parishioner of St. Casimir Church in Terryville. Carol is survived by her daughter-in-law, JoAnne Kallenbach of Stafford Springs; and by her three grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy: Kristian J. Kallenbach Jr. and his wife Caroline of Norfolk, VA; Brandon Kallenbach of Stafford Springs; and Marissa Kallenbach of Stafford Springs and her fianc, Corbin Johnson. She also leaves behind her beloved dog and faithful companion, Betsy. In addition to her husband, Carol was welcomed into Heaven by her two sons, Kristian J. Kallenbach Sr. and Scott R. Kallenbach. A funeral home service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, CT. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol, where Carol will be laid to rest beside her husband, Richard.
