Carol Jean (Bryant) Rushing

Carol Jean Rushing, age 82, passed peacefully on March 4, 2026. She was born on May 30, 1943, in Laurel, Mississippi, to Charles and Millie Jean Bryant.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Howard Bryant; her sister, Florine Gooch; her devoted husband, Paul Rushing; and her cherished dog, Heidi.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula Rushing Davis (Thomas Davis) of Memphis, Tennessee, and Jennifer Desjardin Bullard (Craig Bullard) of Alexander, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Anna and Alex Davis, and Morgan, Bella, and Livi Desjardin; and her brother, Charles Bryant of Laurel, Mississippi.

Carol was a private and gentle soul who often kept to herself, yet she cared deeply for those around her. Her love was shown in quiet ways, through her sense of humor and a heart that held her family close. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
