Carol Jean Eller

Carol Jean Eller, age 83, of Owosso, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026. Born on March 25, 1942, in Owosso to David and Esther Otto, she graduated from Owosso High School and continued her education at Baker College. On June 6, 1962, Carol married Harold Eller at Salem Lutheran Church in Owosso. Their marriage was a loving and devoted partnership that lasted until Harold’s passing on September 25, 2022.

Carol’s deep faith guided much of her life. She served as secretary at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Flushing for 16 years, retiring on March 31, 1997, and also contributed part-time to St. Phillip Lutheran Church in Owosso and United In Christ Lutheran Church in Flint. For 30 years she worked as a Tupperware consultant, traveling across the country for sales events and forming many friendships along the way, especially during memorable trips to Las Vegas.

She was an avid reader with an extensive collection of books and music, sang in a choir, performed at weddings, and enjoyed sewing. Carol also served as a vendor at the original Owosso Farmers Market, which her father helped establish. She found great joy in travel, visiting every state east of the Mississippi River as well as Missouri and Nevada. Known for her cheerful, helpful, and fearless spirit, she made friends easily and remained actively involved in her community throughout her life.

Carol is survived by her sons, Mark (Kristine Keck) Eller and Dan (Melissa) Eller, her grandchildren Donaven, Elizabeth, and Zackary, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents David and Esther Otto, and her sister Mary Ann.
