Carol H. Frederick, née Thomas, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in Sylvania, Ohio. Born on February 10, 1942, in Huntington Woods, Michigan, she lived a life defined by deep compassion and a steadfast commitment to helping others.

Throughout her years, Carol devoted herself to advocating for at-risk and homeless families. Her tireless work earned her the “Hero of the Homeless” award from the Michigan State Legislature and a Special Recognition Award from the Monroe County Board of Commissioners for more than two decades of service on the Monroe County Social Services Board. These honors reflected the lasting difference she made in the lives of the vulnerable through her kindness and determination.

She is survived by her loving husband, R. LaMar Frederick, whose partnership brought them strength and mutual support over many years.

Carol will be remembered as a woman of quiet strength and genuine care whose dedication left a meaningful imprint on her community and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
