Chicago, IL

Carol Gricus, née Mack, age 82, passed away with her loving daughter at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Vance V. Gricus and the devoted mother of Deb (Jim) Caragiulo. Carol was the dear daughter of the late Helen and Ernest Mack, the loving dog mom to Ollie and Cookie, the dearest sister of the late Ernie (the late Sis) Mack, and the fond aunt of the late Michael Mack.

Born at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, Carol graduated high school and began a nearly 40-year career at The First National Bank of Chicago downtown. Known for her strong moral work ethic, she served as a supervisor for many years before retiring. She married Vance on July 2, 1966, and their daughter Debbie was born nine and a half months later.

Carol enjoyed bowling, traveling, and dining out with family and friends in her younger years. She took great pleasure in her coffee, favorite television shows and movies, and in caring for her home. She possessed a huge heart for animals, especially dogs, and was a loyal friend to many. With a generous spirit, Carol was always ready to help her family, friends, and neighbors. A strong and determined woman, she gave life her best until the very end.
