Carol Fenneken

Carol “Duke” Fenneken, 81, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on March 11, 2026. She was born on June 3, 1945, in New Albany to Dorothy and Louis Appleton.

Carol will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. Her deep dedication to her children and grandchildren defined her life and left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Troy (Susan) Duke, Brian (Wendy) Duke, and Danielle (Aaron) VanRiper; grandchildren Audrey Duke, Micheala (Kyle) Sapp, Mary (Nathaniel) Kowalski, Alli Duke, Jacob Duke, Autumn Duke, Jocie Russell (Johnny Shumate), Abby Duke, and Adien Duke; great-grandchildren Owen Johnson, Emy Johnson, Theo Trout, Jaxson Sapp, Thomas Russell, Ellie Sapp, and Taylor Shumate; and niece Missy (Eric) Richards.

Carol was preceded in death by Sled and Josephine Garner, Louis and Dorothy Appleton, and Beverly Ricketts.
