Carol Ann Wesling, age 82 of Franklin, TN passed away March 5, 2026. She was born in St. Louis, MO to the late Bill & Grace Opfer. Carol attended St. Philip Catholic Church. She retired after over 35 years of service with Target where she was one of the longest tenured employees. Outside of working, she loved being a grandmother and adored her grandchildren. She was known for her Christmas cookies, and enjoyed baking during the holidays. Carol was an avid dog lover, caring for many dogs throughout her life. She enjoyed riding horses, and her children even arranged for her to have a final ride on her 80th birthday. Carol also loved a good margarita and would even tolerate a bad one. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jake Wesling; brother, William Opfer. She is survived by her sons, Greg (Kim) Wesling of Minneapolis, MN, Mark Wesling of York, PA and Kevin (Michele) Wesling of Lombard, IL; daughter, Karen (Kevin) Dassow of Franklin, TN; brother, Frank (Donna) Opfer of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren, Connor Wesling, Mya Wesling, Renee Wesling, Elaine Wesling, Owen Wesling, Claudia Dassow and Brent Dassow; as well as her beloved dog, Ollie. A private family graveside service will be held at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
