She was born on February 11, 1952, and lived a life defined by kindness, dedication, creativity, and deep love for her family and community.Carol devoted her career to education, touching the lives of countless students with her patience, warmth, and passion for learning. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Towson State University, later received her Master's of Education from Johns Hopkins University, and was a certified reading specialist. Throughout her 30 years as a teacher, she believed deeply in helping every child discover their potential, finding her greatest joy in teaching children to read.Carol was a faithful Christian and longtime member of Central Presbyterian Church. She was a part of many of Central's various ministry programs. At one time she served as Interim Christian Ed Director, and even started the Vacation Bible School program.Music was a lifelong joy for Carol. She was a devoted choir singer for over 25 years and was known for her beautiful, very high soprano voice. She was also a talented pianist who could sight-read music with ease, playing piano and singing at the weddings of many friends. Whether singing with others or playing the piano, she found great happiness in sharing music and bringing comfort and beauty to those around her.Carol also had a deep love for creating with her hands. She enjoyed needlework and crochet and was well known for making hats, blankets, and handmade gifts for family and friends. Each piece reflected her generosity and the love she shared through her craft.Above all, Carol cherished her family. Carol was preceded by her parents, Ruth and Irvin Poehlman, her sister Janet Tutchton, and she was survived by her brother, Rev. Thomas Poehlman (Julie). She was the beloved wife of Keith Pallante for 43 years, a devoted mother to Rob, a loving mother-in-law to Mary and sister-in-law to Sherry Morell (Tom). Her greatest joy was being "Grammie" to her three grandchildren-Joshua (11), Kaylee (10), and Nathan(5)-who filled her life with pride and happiness.Carol will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her dedication to teaching and music, and the deep love she held for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched and in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered."Well done, good and faithful servant."
