Carol Ann Haut
Midland, MI
Carol Ann Haut, born Carol Ann Prybyski on February 26, 1939, to Joseph and Eva Prybyski, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at the age of 87 in Midland, surrounded by her family. She cherished her family and friends deeply and found great joy in taking bus rides, particularly the mystery trips she shared with her companions. A lifelong Detroit Tigers fan, Carol watched every game she could until Alzheimer’s began to take its toll. She held a passionate admiration for Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, especially defending her beloved “Man in Black” from any criticism.
Carol worked at various places throughout her career and retired from the Dow Chemical Company, where she especially enjoyed mentoring and working with the co-ops, many of whom stayed in touch with her for years afterward. She loved to travel and rarely turned down an invitation to join someone on a trip, happily visiting places such as Las Vegas, North Carolina, and Florida.
Carol is survived by her four children with her ex-husband Wayne Haut, who also survives her: Shellie (Dave Root) Haut, Darren (Kelly) Haut, Ken (Toni) Haut, and Cami Haut. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Devinn and McKenna Root, Trevor (Janae) Hoon, Brendan Haut, Nathan, Ben, and Elizabeth Haut, and Andrew (Elizabeth) and Matthew Schafer, as well as four great-grandchildren, Myles, Mav, Mace, and Finn, with two more great-grandchildren expected soon. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her brother Dan Prybyski and her sisters Sharon Weisheim and Sandy Leach.
