Carol Ann Green

Carol Ann Green

September 2, 1947 March 10, 2026

Austin, TX

Carol Green, 78, of Austin, formerly of Giddings, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. In her final years, as dementia gently returned her to cherished memories, she found comfort in being reunited with her mother, brother, and father.

Born on September 2, 1947, in Brenham, Texas, to Elwood Domaschk Sr. and Lorine (Reuter) Domaschk, Carol was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings. After earning a certificate in Secretarial Administration, she moved to Austin, where she worked for the Department of Transportation, advancing from clerk to Administrative Assistant before retiring.

A kindhearted and private woman who greeted others with a warm smile, Carol formed deep, enduring friendships. She loved traveling with her mother, visiting Las Vegas, and taking trips with her brother and his family. Together with her mother Lorine, she hosted countless family gatherings and lively garage sales. She was a devoted daughter, providing steadfast care for her mother during her battle with cancer. Carol enjoyed country and western music, attending performances from local bars to ACL tapings, and she delighted in polka dancing, often hiring Gil Baca for celebrations. She cherished her family, especially her godsons, whom she spoiled with elaborate Easter baskets filled with treats and toys. Throughout her life, her dogs brought her great joy and companionship.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood Sr. and Lorine Domaschk; her brother, Elwood Domaschk Jr.; and many beloved aunts and uncles. She is survived by her nephew Elwood “MJ” Domaschk III and wife Emily of Elgin; nieces Dawn Domaschk and husband Mattias Fischer of Berlin, Germany, and Lori Domaschk of Houston; godchildren John Domaschk and Elijah Domaschk of Elgin; sister-in-law Jeannette Domaschk of Houston; and many cherished cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
