Sandy, UT
Carol Ann Frazier Mitchell, age 83 passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026 in Sandy Utah.
Carol was born November 18, 1942 in Payson Utah to Rene Dillon and Annie LaVelle Frazier. She grew up in Springville Utah living on the family farm. She loved riding horses, hunting, and fishing with her brothers, a passion that she enjoyed throughout her entire life. She also loved her trips to Nephi visiting Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. She cherished her family throughout her life.
Carol attended school in Springville and made many friends who remain close to this day. She played on the school golf team and was President and a member of the Pep Club. Years later, she was tasked with organizing her graduating class’s 55th High School Class Reunion which she was overjoyed to participate in, and loved working with her brother Allan and several life-long friends to complete.
Upon graduating from Springville High School, Carol attended Brigham Young University where she met and married Alvin Ray Mitchell in 1963. After several years together the couple, with the help of good friends, was blessed to adopt their daughter, Jennifer. Three years later they were blessed to adopt their son, Robert. The little family was sealed in the LDS temple. Not long after moving to Arizona, Carol felt unwell and went to the doctor to see if she had an ulcer or some other ailment. To the families delight and total disbelief, Carol found that their youngest daughter Angela was on her way. Carol and Alvin later divorced but remain friends to this day.
Carol worked in the banking industry and loved the many years she worked with her associates across many different states. After returning to Utah she began working at Deseret First Credit Union as a loan officer working her way up within the business to become a Branch Manager. She loved mentoring and teaching her young employees. She also loved the members that she worked with and helped. She built several lasting friendships with those she worked with and served.
Carol is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed her church callings, especially when she was called as the Stake Sports Director, Young Women’s President, and Girls Camp Director.
Throughout her life Carol loved to golf, hunt and fish. At the age of 73, Carol shot a trophy elk after packing in on mules and camping several long days on Mount Dutton. Just this past month she was scheming with her grandson to help her apply for another elk hunt this fall.
Carol is survived by her children, Jennifer (Andrew) Meacham, Robert Mitchell, Angela Mitchell (Jeremy Johnson), her grandchildren: Skyler (Mar), Tyson, Cole, Eric, Haylie, Sydney (Michael) Alger, Gracie, Ayden and Madison; and her sister Patricia (Stewart) Ivie. She is also expecting her 1st great grandchild, Cooper, this month. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Robert Frazier, Blaine Frazier, and Allan Frazier; a Sister-In-Law Renae (Blaine) Frazier and infant brother Ernest.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Wheeler-Sundberg Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah. Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi Utah.
