Esterreicher of St. George, Utah, and long time resident of Sandy and Draper, Utah, passed away from complications from pneumonia on February 23, 2026. Carol was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio in 1940. Her life's journey included living in Ohio, West Virginia, Missouri, New Mexico, Maryland, Arizona, Oregon and finally Utah.Carol's career included 30 years of service as a Speech and Language Pathologist, retiring in June of 1997. Eleven combined years in West Virginia, New Mexico, Maryland, and Arizona and nineteen years in Utah with the Jordan School District. She even brought Speech Therapy programs to several schools that had previously never had the service. She also authored several books including Scamper Strategies and Now You See It, Now you Don't.Carol received her Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University She then completed her Masters Degree at the University of Maryland. Finally, she earned her EDS degree in Educational Administration at the University of Utah.Carol was an avid storyteller throughout her career with a 30-year continuing membership in the Utah Storytelling Guild. She also loved doing magic and had a 10-year membership in the International Brotherhood of Magicians.Carol's other interests at various times in her life were line dancing, belly dancing, painting, running, concert ushering, skiing, cake decorating, sewing, learning Spanish, tai chi, computer club, etc.Survived by her beloved husband, Joe, and children Christine, Jeanne and Joey, grandson Anton and her cherished cat Tinkerbell.Carol was known for her positivity and uplifting spirit. Her motto was "choose joy," so please join us at Carol's goodbye "party" (her words).A viewing for friends and family will be held Monday March 2nd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. at Larkin Sunset Gardens at 1950 E 10600 S, Sandy, Utah 84092. A second viewing will be held Tuesday March 3rd from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
