Carmen Lomely Deltoro

Carmen Lomely Deltoro, a beloved centenarian, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in Bakersfield, California, at the age of 100. Born on October 12, 1925, in Bakersfield, she spent her entire life in the city she called home.

Born to Jesus and Raquel (Gallardo) Lomely, Carmen was the second oldest of fifteen siblings. From an early age, her life revolved around her family. She played a pivotal role in helping to raise her younger siblings and later her numerous grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Her nurturing spirit, unwavering love, and positive nature made her the emotional anchor for all who knew her.

Carmen shared a remarkable life with her lifelong friend and husband, Paul L. Deltoro. Together, they raised five children with love and dedication. She is survived by her son Paul and his wife Lucia Deltoro; her daughters Raquel Cervantes and Rebecca Deltoro; grandchildren Jess, Paul IV, Alicia, and Joseph Deltoro; Lucia C. and Marlin Balance; Alfred, Alex, Michael, and Jacob Cervantes; as well as many great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her endless joy. Carmen was preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Raquel Lomely; her husband Paul L. Deltoro; two of her children, Jess and Daniel Deltoro; and several siblings, including Virginia Vasquez and Mary Johnson.

Carmen’s legacy is one of love, care, and strength. She was always there for those who needed her, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her family extends heartfelt thanks to Peter and Nora Lomely, Suzanne Hernandez, and Ash Rollins for their steadfast love and support. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the love she gave so freely throughout her extraordinary century of life.
