Carmella D'Auria ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Silverton Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Toms River on Mar. 4, 2026.Carmella DAuria, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in Brick Town, New Jersey, leaving behind a legacy of generosity and kindness that touched all who knew her.Born on February 18, 1951, in Newark, New Jersey, Carmellas journey of 75 years was one marked by devotion to her family, her faith, and her community. Carmella's life was a testament to the power of love, a theme she embodied every day.She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert DAuria, with whom she shared a life full of joy and partnership. Her spirit lives on through her children, Joseph DAuria, Carolyn Bruschi and her husband Anthony, and Valarie Saunders. She found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to Cheyenna, Anthony, James, Isaiah, Angel, Abigail, Chloe, and Gabriella, and as a great-grandmother to Ophelia. Her sister Joanne Whelan, along with many nieces, nephews, and their children, will hold Carmellas memory dear as a guiding light in their lives.A proud graduate of Girls Vocational School in Newark, Carmella embraced her calling as a hairdresser and caretaker with grace and excellence. Her hands were not only skilled in her craft but were also extended in constant service and comfort to others. She was indeed a mother to many, providing a listening ear and a heart full of understanding to anyone in need. Carmellas Christian faith was the cornerstone of her existence. It was the wellspring of her strength and inspiration for her ceaseless generosity. Her life was a vivid illustration of the words of Scripture, faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13). This verse was not only a source of personal comfort but also a principle she demonstrated through her actions every day.Her interests were simple yet profound. Carmella found solace in the pages of a good book and the most joy in the company of her family. She cultivated a home that was a sanctuary of warmth and acceptance, a place where all were welcome, and laughter was the common language. Carmella was known for her loving nature, her faith-filled spirit, and her boundless generosity. She approached each day with a heart full of gratitude and a desire to make a positive impact on those around her. In the words of Mother Teresa, not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love. Carmella lived this sentiment every day, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories for those she loved.Today, we celebrate Carmella DAurias remarkable life, not with a sense of loss but with immense gratitude for the time we were blessed to have her among us. Her legacy of love and faith will continue to ripple through the generations, inspiring all who remember her to live with the same compassion and zeal that she so effortlessly displayed. As we bid farewell to Carmella, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit has found its way to a divine embrace, and that her lifes work of spreading love and kindness will endure. Carmella DAuria was truly a light in this world, and her glow will forever illuminate the paths of those she has left behind. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
