He was the devoted and beloved husband of Angela (Carvalho) Moniz, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage, filled with love and unwavering support.Born on the beautiful island of São Miguel in the Azores, Portugal, Carlos was the cherished son of the late Antonio Moniz Rodrigues and Maria do Carmo dos Santos Camelo. He carried the warmth and strong family values of his Azorean heritage throughout his life, traits that endeared him to everyone who knew him.For 19 dedicated years, Carlos worked as a housekeeper at Spaulding Rehabilitation in Cambridge, MA, where his reliability, and positive attitude made him a valued member of the team.A true soccer enthusiast at heart, Carlos lived and breathed the beautiful game. He played with passion in his younger years, never missed watching a match, and found his greatest joy cheering on his grandchildren from the sidelines as they played. A lifelong and devoted supporter of Sporting Clube de Portugal, he followed "Os Leões" with unwavering loyalty through every triumph and heartbreak - a true Sportinguista in every sense of the word. Match days were sacred, filled with hope, excitement, and spirited conversation. He loved sharing stories, reliving great moments, and passing down his deep pride in his heritage and his team.Carlos will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by his loving wife, Angela; his two adored children, Michael Moniz and his wife Nancy, and Stephanie Moniz and her husband Christopher; his three surviving siblings, Maria Fatima Sousa, Maria do Carmo Moniz, and Mario Moniz; his four precious grandchildren, Austin, Andrew, Olivia, and Annabelle Moniz, who were the light of his life; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Carlos's life during calling hours from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Methuen Family Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA.
