Carla Gaskill ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Goldfinch Funeral Home - Beach Chapel - Murrells Inlet on Mar. 9, 2026.Carla Ann Gaskill (Ranii) age 71, passed away at her home in Pawleys Island with her husband Frank by her side on Thursday, February 26, 2028.Carla was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Carmello and Hilda Ranii. Carla held a graduate degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and had undergraduate degrees in Spanish and Literature from New York University in Madrid. Carla taught at the University of Illinois-Chicago and other distinguished colleges. She also taught ESL and Spanish in both Horry and Georgetown County School Districts and later retired from Georgetown County School system. Carla had several publications and was an advocate for many ESL students in the State of SC.She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Frank Gaskill of Pawleys Island.Services will be held at a later date.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
