Carl Leman Moore Jr., 82, of West Monroe, Louisiana, was born on June 11, 1943, in Monroe, Louisiana, and passed away on March 12, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Carl and Mary were high school sweethearts who fell in love at the age of 16 while attending West Monroe High School. Together they were part of the West Monroe Rebel Marching Band, where Carl played the trumpet. He later graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, earning a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Business. He served as president of the Civitan Club, devoting himself to helping others and serving his community, and retired as an office manager from Entergy, where he was known for his steady leadership, strong work ethic, and kind spirit.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed camping and fishing with his and Mary’s best friends. Carl loved hunting, traveling the open road in his RV, and sitting around a campfire sharing stories with family and friends. He also had a special love for mules and horses, and he and his beloved wife, Mary, shared a love for travel, making countless treasured memories together on cruises. He treasured the companionship of his loyal dogs, who were never far from his side.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jourdan Moore; his sons, John Micheal Moore and wife Robin Moore, and David Gregory Moore and wife Jennifer Moore; his grandchildren, Melanie Moore Baker and husband Harrison Baker, Raelyn Moore Tatum and husband Mitchel Tatum, Mollyann Moore, Raimee Jo Moore Turner and husband Joshua Turner, Hunter Moore, Abigail Moore, and Elizabeth Galloway and husband Noah Galloway; and his great-grandchildren, Miley Baker, Gracelyn Baker, Wilson Tatum, Urban Tatum, Acre Jo Turner, and Joseph Galloway. He will be remembered for his love of family, his quiet strength, his servant’s heart, and his deep love for the outdoors.
