Carl E. Gamble Jr.

Carl E. Gamble Jr., 79, of Somerville, passed away on March 10, 2026, at Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Watertown on December 2, 1946, to the late Carl Sr. and Dorothy (Russell) Gamble, Carl married the love of his life, Dianna (Diane) Bates, on June 4, 1966, at the Gouverneur Presbyterian Church. He spent many years working in construction for Bette & Cring Associates of Watertown, Construction Associates of Baldwinsville, and Bernier, Carr & Associates of Watertown.

Carl is survived by his wife of 59 years, Diane; his children, Terri (Bradley) Gotham, Kevin (Amanda) Gamble, and Kristine (Joseph) Ginger; two sisters, Tina (Dennis) Demo and Luann Kimmet; three stepsisters, Joan McPherson, Kathy Rust, and Patti Folino; nine grandchildren, Justin, Jeffrey, Jory, Jaelyn, Kraig, Tony, Elly, Megan, and Courtney; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Trevor, Olivia, Hannah, Carter, Brayden, Braxton, Harper, Alex, Dominic, Julian, Jude, Jenevive, Jace, Jack, and Ben. He was predeceased by his parents, a grandson Zachary, a great-granddaughter Addison, a brother David Constantino, a sister Connie Rice, and a stepsister Jane Gleason.

A devoted family man, Carl cherished time spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was a member and former officer of the Gouverneur Elks Club and a past member of the Gouverneur Fire Department. He found joy in watching NASCAR, hunting, fishing, bowling, and woodworking.
