Candace Kathryn Robinson, known affectionately as Candy, passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2026, at the age of 79 after complications from Parkinson’s disease. Born on October 8, 1946, in Los Angeles, California, to Peter Wallace Williams and Kathryn Krejci Williams, she was later adopted by her stepfather, Joseph Floyd Bell, who helped raise her alongside her sister Debbie in Torrance, California. She graduated from North High School in 1964, moved with her family to Ventura, and earned an associate degree from Ventura College in 1966 before completing a bachelor’s degree in journalism at Brigham Young University in 1969.
At BYU, Candy met the love of her life, John Robinson, while both studied journalism and worked on the Daily Universe campus newspaper. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on February 21, 1969. After graduation, she worked as a reporter for the Ventura County Star-Free Press. In 1981, she and John moved their young family to Bountiful, Utah, where she later worked in the Viewmont High School cafeteria and as an associate librarian at the Davis County Library South Branch. She took special delight in helping patrons track down elusive books, often succeeding with only the vaguest of clues.
A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Candy served faithfully in many callings, including Young Women, Primary, Relief Society, and as a visiting teacher. She cherished the friendships formed through her ward. Above all, she adored her family. A devoted wife and mother, she especially loved being a grandmother, spending countless hours baking and doing puzzles with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader of mysteries, a longtime member of several book clubs, and a dedicated family historian who formed meaningful connections with relatives uncovered through her research.
She is survived by her husband, John Robinson; her children, Eric, Daniel, and Christina (Alan) Dee; and her two granddaughters, Alyssa and Elizabeth (“Libby”) Dee. She is also survived by her sister, Terri Bell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Debbie Meeks, her niece Amy Meeks, and her daughter-in-law Emily Merkley Robinson.
