Camille A. Wiczynski

Toledo, OH

Camille “Granny” Wiczynski, 76, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on March 7, 2026, at UTMC, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 30, 1949, in Toledo to Edwin and Anne Wiczynski, Camille was a lifelong south Toledo resident. She graduated from Scott High School and worked at Northwest Ohio Hospital until her retirement in 1994.

To everyone who knew her, she was simply Granny. Her warm smile could light up any room, and her gentle sense of humor, boundless love, and deep devotion to family touched all who crossed her path. She welcomed everyone as one of her own, always seeking the best in people and loving them exactly as they were. Granny stayed closely connected to her circle of friends, speaking daily with Andrea, Marilyn, and Ann about their days, family updates, and everything in between.

Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She attended every school program, sports event, and activity, wholeheartedly supporting whatever they loved. Though she might not have known all the rules, her enthusiasm never wavered. She encouraged them to study hard, learn as much as they could, and have fun, words that will remain with them always. Granny found quiet pleasure in reading, keeping up with everyone on Facebook, playing Candy Crush, enjoying Tim Hortons ice caps, and staying informed on current events.

She is survived by her children Michelle Rittichier, Eric (Courtney) Byrne and their sons Griffin and Eagan, Nicole (Jeffrey) Chesser and their children Colton and Talynn, Gregory (Ellen) Melroy and their daughter Elodie, Tanner (Angie) Rittichier, and Alyssa (Travis) Rittichier and their children Mason and Olivia, along with many siblings, nieces, and nephews. Her spirit will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
