Burton Theodore “Teddy” Maines Jr., 42, of Clearfield, passed away on March 4, 2026, at EvergreenHealth Medical Center in Kirkland, Washington.

Born on June 21, 1983, Teddy graduated from Clearfield High School in 2001. He immediately enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving from 2001 to 2005 as a Sergeant and dedicated flying Crew Chief on a KC-135 during Operation Iraqi Freedom. His service earned him the Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, and two Operation Enduring Freedom and two Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign badges.

After his military career, Teddy attended the Pennsylvania College of Technology, graduating cum laude in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Building Automation Technology and an associate degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration with honors. He went on to work as a Senior Project Superintendent for companies along both the East and West coasts. Known as a motivator who eagerly took on the most challenging tasks, he earned deep respect from his coworkers.

Teddy was cherished by all who knew him for his heart-stealing personality and his ability to bring a smile to any face. He embraced adventure, loved to travel, and was happiest when exploring new places with his children and his father. He was always ready to help others, no matter the task, and could rarely be found sitting still. He looked forward to taking his niece skydiving when she was old enough and made sure his nieces and nephews knew they could always turn to Uncle Teddy.

He is survived by his parents, Burton T. “BT” Maines and wife Ruby, and Jennifer Bailey and husband Rob; his fiancé, Victoria Swoop, whom he planned to marry on June 26, 2026; his children, Jamison Maines and Rorie Maines; his siblings, Jason Dullen and companion Sue, Krystal Bloom, Theodore Rowles and wife Lori, Karen Williams and husband Jeff, and Alicia Webster and husband Shawn; his paternal grandmother, Nancy Maines; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Richard and Rosemary McCorkle; his paternal grandfather, Burton L. Maines; his uncle, Michael N. Maines; his aunt, Robin Lumadue; and his cousin, Casey Swisher.
