Dandridge, TN

Burl Mack “Junior” French departed this world on February 25, 2026; after being ill for some time, and surrounded by family.

He was born in Knox County, raised in Seymour as a member of Trinity Baptist Church, and lived in Dandridge with his wife, Pamela Monday French.

He is preceded in death by his two eldest sons, Mack & Albert French, as well as his parents, Nell Spence and Clarence French. In addition to his wife, Pam; Junior is survived by his children, Jesse (& wife, Codi) French, and Lacey French; step children, Barbara (& husband, Kenneth) Rutherford, Alexandra Whitney, and Patrick Whitney; grandchildren, Aaliyah Whitney, Josh & Jayce French, Emily, Chyanne, & Harden Weld, Elizabeth & Stephan Gibson; Shannon Rutherford, Mileena & Paul James "PJ" Whitney; and great-grandchildren, Alithia Bull & Charles Rylee Whitney, Aiden, Lily, & Camdyn Gibson.

Burl “Junior” greatly enjoyed sweet tea, gardening, reading, NASCAR, and so many more things. He was a family man to the core that loved every one in his family; especially the babies. He will be remembered for being the highly opinionated, rambunctious, outgoing, funny, goofy, story telling man he was; and honored for the endless love he shared to those he cared about.

A funeral service will take place at 7PM, Monday, March 9, 2026 at Farrar Funeral Home of Dandridge with Pastor Gerald Rudd officiating. The family will receive friends from 5PM to 7PM prior to the service. Military Graveside Honors are scheduled for 10AM, Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the family through Venmo @Yours_Truly2424 or in person during the visitation.

Farrar Funeral Home of Dandridge is honored to serve the French family.
