Buford Green

In the vast expanse of eternity, Buford shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Buford farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was predeceased by: his parents, David Green and Annie Green; and his brother Murl Green. He is survived by: his children, Chris Green (Cheryl) of Arlington, VA and Brenda Cunningham (Bob) of Springfield, Illinois.. He is also survived by nephews, as well as numerous cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Williamson Funeral Home (1405 Lincoln Ave, Jacksonville, IL 62650). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Jacksonville High School Sports Hall of Fame or the Illinois College Sports Hall of Fame.
