Preserve forever →Bryan Totty
Richmond, VA
With broken hearts, we share the passing of Bryan Totty.Bryan was a kind and caring soul whose empathy for others was simply part of who he was. He had a natural way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. His honesty, loyalty, and genuine spirit made him someone others trusted deeply. He was considerate in both big and small ways, always thinking of how his actions might affect those around him.Bryan had a strength about him - not just in his strong work ethic, but in his determination to live a meaningful life. He faced life with courage and gratitude, choosing to appreciate what he had and to make the most of each day.He was selfless, often putting others before himself, and he was a wonderful friend to many. His smile could light up a room, and his hugs made everything feel better.Bryan truly enjoyed life. He channeled his deep love for animals into his work, a beloved figure to both the dogs in his care and their families. He loved riding by the river with Ruca, finding peace and freedom in those quiet moments. Music brought him joy, and he looked forward to attending music festivals, where he could be surrounded by friends and energy.Above all, Bryan was grateful for his life, friends, and family. His presence was a gift, and the love he gave will continue to live on in all who knew him. Bryan will be deeply missed and forever loved.Bryan is survived by his family, Dale, Laura, Brittany, Matt, Madison, his love Allison and pup Willow, aunts, uncles, many cousins, a large circle of friends, and all those who were touched by his kindness and generosity.A celebration of Bryan's life will be held at 2:00 on Friday, March 6, 2026, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 503 Stuart Circle, Richmond. Family and friends will be received at the church an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please join us on Team Bryan for the Liver Life Walk (liverlifewalk.org) in the fall or make a donation to the American Liver Foundation.
