Bruce Henry Belmer, 74, of Exeter, New Hampshire, passed away on March 14, surrounded by his loving family. Born at home in Atkinson, New Hampshire, on October 30, 1951, to Frank Porter Belmer and June Azalie Davis, he was the youngest of seven children and was cherished by his six older siblings.
In 1970, Bruce graduated from Whittier Trade School in Haverhill, Massachusetts, with a certificate in upholstery. That training launched a remarkable 55-year career devoted to his craft. After working at HiGrade Upholstery in Bradford, Massachusetts, he founded his own business, Craftmaster, where he continued until illness forced him to close its doors in December 2025. Passionate, creative, and uncompromising in his pursuit of perfection, Bruce was a true master upholsterer and entrepreneur who took great pride in every project.
Beyond his work, Bruce held a deep fascination with computers and technology. Curious and eager to learn, he enjoyed exploring new innovations, building custom computer systems for friends and family, and gaming online. He also found joy in tending his saltwater fish tank, cooking for his family, and creating beautiful gardens. His talent for planning, planting, and maintaining lush flower gardens brought lasting pleasure to all who saw them.
Above all, Bruce lived a life defined by hard work and quiet devotion to his family. Providing for and caring for those he loved brought him his greatest fulfillment. Those who knew him will always remember the sound of him whistling a tune as he moved through his day.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lynne (Carroll) Belmer; his siblings, Porter Frank Belmer and Jacqueline (Belmer) Wilson; his children, Monique (Belmer) Magnuson, Mitchel Belmer, and Lauren (Belmer) Drouin; and his granddaughters, Victoria Patnode, Charlotte Drouin, and Rhyan Drouin. He was predeceased by his parents and four of his six siblings.
