Brian Wayne Maxwell

Brian Wayne Maxwell, age 52, of Cochran, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.

Born in Warner Robins and raised in Cochran, Brian graduated from Bleckley County High School in 1991. He attended Middle Georgia College before transferring to the University of Georgia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources from the School of Forestry. He worked as a supervisor for Cemex.

A lifelong Georgia football fan, Brian was known for his spirited cheers of “How ’bout them Dawgs!” He was also an avid golfer who spent many happy hours on the course at Uchee Trail Golf Course. His enthusiasm for the things he loved was contagious and brought energy to everyone around him.

Brian cared deeply for his family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Niki Maxwell. He is survived by his children, Darci Maxwell and Caden (Chloe) Maxwell, all of Athens; his parents, Donna and Herman F. “Tex” Maxwell of Cochran; his loving companion, Monica Martin Bass, and her son Hudson Bass; and several cousins.
