February 10, 1958— March 11, 2026
Bloomer, WI
Brett Mitchell Miller, 68, of Bloomer, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack at his home on March 11, 2026. Born on February 10, 1958, to Raymond and Gloria Miller, Brett grew up in a lively family in Bloomer. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, where he remained connected throughout his life. Active in FFA, band, and golf during his school years, he served as a State FFA Officer and won the State FFA Public Speaking competition. He graduated from Bloomer High School in 1976.
Brett married Jill Lee in 1983; they later divorced. He began his career at Mid-America Dairy in Bloomer before moving to California, where he served as plant manager at F&A Dairy. Upon returning to Wisconsin, he particularly enjoyed his role on the fly team for Menards, traveling to help open new stores in North Dakota. He cherished simple evenings at home near his childhood residence, where the family gathered each night to play Jeopardy and trivia games, always ending with Brett preparing root beer floats for everyone.
A five-year stage 4 kidney cancer survivor, Brett faced his illness with remarkable resilience and gratitude. He amazed his medical team with his recovery and approached each additional day with a renewed appreciation for life and the people around him.
He is survived by his mother, Gloria; son, Shane; stepdaughter, Natasha; sister, Becky (Nate) Splett; his 101-year-old aunt, Eleanor; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond; daughter, Chanel; and brother, Brock.
