Brett Hilliard

Brett A. Hilliard, 65, of Bradford, passed away on March 1, 2026, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie. Born on August 30, 1960, in Bradford, he was the son of the late Ronald Lee and Donna J. Hallock Hilliard Sr. A 1978 graduate of Bradford High School, Brett married Julie Cobb on September 7, 1985, in Bradford. Their marriage of more than 50 years was a central part of his life.

For over 35 years, Brett worked as a rural route driver for The Bradford Era. He was a member of the Eagles Club and a former member of the Moose Lodge. He found simple joy in watching westerns, particularly “Gunsmoke” and John Wayne movies.

He is survived by his wife, Julie, of Bradford; his son, Brett A. Hilliard Jr. of Bradford; his granddaughter, Addison Hilliard; his sisters, Helen Hilliard of Marienville, Shelley Hendryx of Rew, and Kathy Yehl of Bandera, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Brett was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Hilliard and Gregory Hilliard.
