Brenda Wooten Matthews

Brenda Wooten Matthews, age 78, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Marshall Medical Center.

Born on February 7, 1948, in Lewisburg to the late Adrian and Gladys Stewmon Wooten, Brenda lived a life centered on family, faith, and service. She shared 59 years of marriage with her husband Benny Matthews and was the devoted mother of two sons, Jeremy (April) Matthews of Gautier, Mississippi, and Jeffrey Matthews of Pulaski. She cherished her four grandchildren, Blade, Briley, Brooklyn, and Raven.

A talented cook and former caterer, Brenda delighted in preparing meals for others, always offering a warm smile. She earlier worked as an insurance agent for David Jent Insurance. She found great joy in traveling, singing, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. A faithful member of Church Street Church of Christ, she participated in many mission trips where her cooking was a blessing to those she served. Those who knew her will remember her as a wonderful friend, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and a devoted Christian whose kindness touched many lives.

She is survived by her husband Benny, her sons and their families, and a wide circle of friends who will miss her deeply.
