Brenda Sue Smith Doby

Brenda Sue Smith Doby, age 78, of Mount Airy, passed away on the morning of March 8, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Born in Surry County on August 24, 1947, she was the daughter of the late John and Stella Hall Smith.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Brenda lived a life centered on her family. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Doby Jr. and Wendy, Chad Doby and Jessica Post; her daughter and son-in-law, Tracey Gomez and Chris; grandchildren Joshua Gomez and Kayla, Jordan Gomez, Brittany Woods and Austin, and Kirsten Snow and Brian; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lynn Doby Sr., as well as her parents and all of her siblings.
