Brenda Kelly ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Tim Stewart Funeral Home - Lawrenceville on Mar. 10, 2026.KELLY - Brenda Sue Kelly, age 74, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, peacefully went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, March 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the faith that guided her life. A Memorial Service celebrating Brenda's life and faith will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Buford Church of God with Reverend Gary Wright officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Brenda was a woman whose life reflected her deep love for Jesus. She faithfully served the Lord and her church family in many ways over the years. She was a devoted Sunday School teacher, a faithful member of the Tuesday morning prayer group, and joyfully sang in the church choir. Brenda also volunteered her time serving others through the Joy Kitchen Food Pantry. Whether through a kind word, a prayer, or a song, she had a special way of pointing people to Christ. Those who knew Brenda remember her gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering faith. She loved her family deeply and treasured time spent with them. Her grandchildren were especially dear to her, and she took great joy in watching them grow and celebrating the unique person each of them was becoming. She also enjoyed reading, especially the inspirational novels of Karen Kingsbury, and found great joy in music and worship. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Clera (Curenton) Thames and Buford Edward Thames. Brenda is lovingly survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, David Lee Kelly; her daughter, Tia (Michael) Dahlberg; her son, Shaun (Sabrina) Kelly; and her cherished grandchildren, Elias, Briana, Lexi, and William. She is also survived by her sister, Sharon (Bill) Deaton; her brothers, Eddie (Martha) Thames and Ron (Dreama) Thames; and her foster sister, Esther (Rick) Long. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends-so many of whom were very special to her and whose lives were touched by her kindness and faith. Brenda's family finds peace in knowing that the faith she lived by all her life is now her reality. The woman who spent her life pointing others to Jesus now rests in His presence, whole and at peace. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Buford Church of God Children's Building Fund.
