Brenda McFarland ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.LACONIA ---- Brenda Arlene McFarland, 82, of Blueberry Lane, passed away at her home, peacefully surrounded by her children, on Sunday, March 15, 2026.Brenda was born on May 29, 1943, in New Haven, CT, the daughter of Thomas and Barbara (Davis) Tennyson.Brenda was a native of Guilford, CT, GHS class of 1961, relocating to New Hampshire in 1994. She was a stay-at-home mom for many years, caring for her own children and pets as well as any soul who needed the warmth of home.She also volunteered for Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and Outdoor Education. Brenda loved all creatures great and small, cooking, baking, gardening and nature.She later became a CNA, caring for the elderly, then working as a homemaker/companion for Community Health and Hospice in Laconia. Brenda also spent her later years volunteering in her community.Brenda is survived by her son Edward "Rick" McFarland III (Kay), daughters Cathy DelFranco (Michael) and Barbara Paquette (Steven), three grandchildren, Jocelyn DelFranco, Michael DelFranco IV and James Paquette and step-grandchildren Sarah Shields and Amy Paquette. In addition to her parents, Brenda is predeceased by her beloved husband Edward McFarland, Jr., and her brother Thomas Tennyson.There will be no calling hours.Interment will take place on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 2:00pm, at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.There will be a Celebration of Life in Connecticut at a future date.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Granite VNA, 30 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301.Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home & Cremation Services/603Cremations.com, Laconia, NH, is assisting the family with arrangements.
