Brenda Louise (Williams) Beard

Brenda Louise (Williams) Beard, 78, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Hospice of Dayton. Born on August 24, 1947, in Springfield, she was the daughter of Kenneth L. and Valerie (Davis) Williams Sr. A graduate of Springfield North High School, Brenda attended The Ohio State University to study registered nursing. She worked as a unit clerk at Community Hospital in Springfield and Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California. She later served in the admissions department at Central State University before spending 15 years in the fraud department at the Clark County Child Support Agency. In retirement, she worked as a greeter at Meijer, where her warm personality endeared her to everyone she met.

Brenda faced her diagnosis of multiple myeloma with grace and continued to find joy in simple pleasures. She loved attending horse races with close friends, shopping on Snooty Fox Tours with her dear friend Bobbi Cunningham, and watching her favorite cooking shows. On sunny days, she cherished walks at the reservoir and treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry (Tommie) Butler of Fairborn, Ohio, and Cory (Joseph) Hedges of Enon, Ohio; grandchildren Christopher Butler, Taylor (Omar) Walker, T.J. Richardson, and Teddy Hedges; great-grandchildren Omaria Carr, Omari Carr, Trinity Walker, and Oya Omoyeni Carr; cousin Rene’ Peterson; special friend Bobbi Cunningham; best friend Debbie Cantrell; and ex-husband Robert Beard, along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth L. and Valerie L. Williams Sr., and her brothers, Kenneth L. Williams Jr. and Darryl A. Williams.

Brenda will be forever loved and deeply missed.
