Brenda Lee Wignall

1970 — 2026

Oskaloosa, IA

Brenda Wignall, age 56, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, formerly of Albia, passed away on March 11, 2026, at Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa.

Born on February 19, 1970, in Albia to Edward Ellis and Peggy Darlene (Mefford) Wignall, Brenda graduated from high school with the Class of 1988. She took great pride in her athletic achievements, holding the shot put record for 34 years and the discus record for 15 years. Her mother often teased her about running out of room on her letter jacket for all the medals she brought home.

Brenda worked at Pella Corporation for 23 years, hoping to reach her 25-year milestone and join the Chairman’s Club. She found joy in the outdoors, whether grilling, fishing, sitting by a campfire, or competing in games of bags and horseshoes. A devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan, she treasured most the time spent with her family and close friends.

She is survived by her brother, Brian Wignall of Oskaloosa, and her favorite cousin, Tony Long, and his wife, Angie Long. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Peggy Wignall; her sisters, Brenda in infancy and Cindy; and her brother, Tim. She often joked that she would one day tell her sister to “move over” so she could add her own year to their shared headstone.
