Brenda Joyce Towers
September 28, 1954— March 10, 2026
Granbury, TX
Brenda Joyce “BJ” (Alberts) Towers, 71, of Granbury, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in Fort Worth.
Born on September 28, 1954, in Spokane, Washington, Brenda was the daughter of Kenneth Charles Alberts and Mildred Louise Alberts. She graduated from North Central High School in Spokane and built a long career in Human Resources. In 2001 she married the love of her life, Gary Allen Towers, and the two shared more than twenty-five joyful years together.
A woman of deep faith, Brenda was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Granbury and was ordained as an Elder in January 2026. She was also a devoted patriot who worked tirelessly on behalf of veterans. A member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 491 in Granbury, she served in numerous roles and became the only person since 1927 to serve two consecutive terms as President of the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Texas, from 2019 to 2021. In February 2026 she received the Four Chaplains Award and was named an Honorary Admiral in the Texas Navy.
Brenda and Gary shared a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Together they toured the country on specially built bikes honoring the military, most notably their celebrated GI Joe motorcycle. Their love of riding led her to become a life member of the Harley Owners Group, where she received the Willy G Award, and to partner with Gary in business as co-owner and Vice President of Road Hog Enterprises until her retirement. She cherished her life on the lake, her beloved husky Juneau, and above all her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Wayne Alberts. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Towers; her children, Jaime Christine Cooper (Terry), Adam Jeffrey Miller (Melanie), and Traci Nicole Meyer (Kevin); four grandchildren; her brother, Douglas Glenn Alberts; many nieces and nephews; extended family; and a wide circle of lifelong friends.
