Brenda Gayle Turrentine Maples

Brenda Gayle Turrentine Maples, age 72, of Hartselle, Alabama, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Born on August 26, 1953, in Hartselle to Albert Grady Turrentine and Vera Marie Asherbranner Turrentine, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family.

A charter member of Son Rise Baptist Church, Brenda deeply loved her church family and carried forward the Christian heritage she received from her godly parents. She found great joy in Southern Gospel music and attending gospel singings, and she worked to pass on her faith and values to the generations that followed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Ronnie Turrentine, and one sister, Reba Turrentine Brown.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harold Maples; son Stephen Maples; daughters Susan DeLoach (David) and Sara Smith (John); brother James Turrentine (Lisa); sister Linda Brown; seven grandchildren, Devan DeLoach (Holly), Andrew Maples (Chelsea), Austin DeLoach (Ellie), Katelyn Smith, Payton DeLoach, Noah Smith, and Lanie Borden; and three great-grandchildren, Lillie Morgan, Ezra Morgan, and Jake Morgan.
