She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Hunt and Katherine Hunt; and her siblings, Willis Hunt, Finnis Hunt, Douglas Hunt, Eloise Hunt, Virgie Davis, Evelyn Meyers and Kelsie Sanderson.

She is survived by: her husband Ancile Chavis, Sr.; her children, Ancial Chavis, Jr. (Dana) of Chesapeake, Jason Chavis, Katherine Spangler and Yolanda Thompson (Terry, Sr) of Lancaster, SC; and her siblings, Charles R. Hunt (Nancy) of Monroe, NC, Zeddie Emrich of Greer, SC and Gwendolyn Roithmeyer of Stallings, NC. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bear Swamp Baptist Church (1948 St Anna Rd, Pembroke, NC 28372). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
