Brandyn Powers ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Twiford Funeral Home - Outer Banks - Manteo on Mar. 9, 2026.Brandyn Powers, age 38, of Avon, North Carolina, unexpectedly passed away due to a medical emergency on Thursday, February 26, 2026. He was born on May 27, 1987, to Lisa and Patrick Powers in Barnegat, New Jersey. Brandyn is survived by his parents, beloved wife, Caitlin, and their household full of pets. Brandyn and Caitlin recently celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary in October of 2025.Brandyn had widespread interests and passions, and his wife affectionately referred to him as a "Renaissance Man." He was self-taught in most of his passions throughout his life; from riding a bike to learning to cook, and everything else in between. Brandyn was a musician; playing guitar and piano and would also sing. He was known to draw and sketch, even designing some of his own tattoos. He was a skilled handyman, able to fix almost anything that was broken and he spent several years working as an auto mechanic. Most recently, Brandyn had careers in restaurants, honing another self-taught skill of being a Chef. He had a passion for food, demonstrating his love for others through cooking, and acted as a calm and steady leader in the kitchen.Beyond that, he cared about every living creature - people, animals of all kinds, and plants. He was self-sacrificing and would go out of his way to fix anything he could. He wanted everyone to feel they were loved, supported, and cherished. He enjoyed kayaking with his wife and two littlest dogs, hiking, puzzles, and comics.Brandyn relocated to North Carolina in 2022, and at that time, he became a cornerstone in the community and truly felt that this was home, surrounded by friends and family.Brandyn was a registered organ donor, and his wife Caitlin made the decision to honor those wishes upon his death. Caitlin always referred to him as Superman, and this act of giving allows him to be a superman to so many people, making his legacy one of life for others. His organs have given the gift of time and allowed several other people an opportunity to be able to live. Caitlin hopes that his organ donations, as well as memories, will allow him to leave his handprints on so many people's lives, forever.A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at St. John's United Methodist Church, 40336 McMullen Road, Avon, NC.Twiford Funeral Homes, Outer Banks is assisting the Powers family with arrangements.
