Brad Hoskins ObituaryPublished by Legacy on Mar. 17, 2026.Brad Lee Hoskins, age 54, of Lakeland, TN (formerly of Blytheville, AR) passed away on Thursday, March 5th, 2026.Brad was a man of quiet disposition who seldom felt the need to fill a room with words. Yet those fortunate enough to be welcomed into his circle understood the depth of his loyalty, the strength of his love, and the sincerity with which he cared for those closest to him.Brad possessed an exceptional intellect and a naturally analytical mind, he demonstrated an extraordinary ability to understand, repair, and improve nearly anything he encountered. His mechanical aptitude was remarkable, matched only by his proficiency with computers and emerging technologies. He had a deep fascination with science and innovation, particularly in areas related to space exploration, shuttle launches and developments from organizations such as NASA and companies like SpaceX. He was equally enthusiastic about flying his drones, electric vehicles, and the continual advancement of technology.Outside of his technical interests, Brad found great enjoyment in the simple experiences that brought him peace and perspective. He loved riding his four-wheeler whenever the opportunity arose, and he held a love like no other for the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Another place that brought him tranquility was Orange Beach in Alabama, where he enjoyed sitting and reflecting on life while watching the waves roll in and embracing the beauty and calmness that it brought to his mind.Brad was frequently the person family members, friends, and neighbors turned to when something needed to be repaired or understood. Whether addressing a mechanical problem or troubleshooting complex computer hardware and software issues, he generously shared his knowledge and abilities. While he occasionally huffed about being everyone's go-to problem solver, he'd usually put on his shoes and go to help out, only to feel good after knowing he had the skillset to help others. This is just one of the many reasons there is a huge void in all of our lives now that he won't be there at our fingertips anymore.Brad is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carey Hoskins of Lakeland, Tennessee; his son, Cody Hoskins (Alexandra) of Millington, Tennessee; his daughter, Brittany Hoskins of Bartlett, Tennessee; and his grandchild, Everett Hoskins. He is also survived by his parents, Daniel and Nellie Hoskins of Yellville, Arkansas; his parents-in-law, Wayne and Carol Whaley of Southaven, Mississippi; as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins from afar, who will remember him with deep affection.Brad was an avid pet lover, but had a deep connection with cats in particular. He most recently lost his baby girl cat (Bear) of 20.5 years with whom he had a very close bond. He leaves behind Sugar (16) and Lucky (11) who miss him deeply.Brad spoke candidly about his struggles with mental health and was an advocate for open and honest conversations about depression and the stigma-particularly for men-that often prevent such discussions. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in his memory to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).Another organization that held a special place in Brad's heart was St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. For many years, St. Jude was among Brad's professional accounts, and even as his work responsibilities evolved, he requested to retain that relationship because of the profound meaning it held for him. Those who wish to honor his memory may also consider making a donation to St. Jude’sA Celebration of Brad's Life will be held on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 @ 11 a.m. @ Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3427 Appling Road, Bartlett, TN 38133.
