Bonnie M. Runnels

Bonnie M. Runnels, a cherished matriarch and long-time resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on January 18, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was the beloved daughter of the late Claude C. Martin Sr. and Bonnie C. Martin.

Bonnie was the loving wife of the late Richard Runnels Sr., with whom she shared 48 years of marriage filled with love and unwavering partnership. Her loving spirit lives on in her surviving children, Mark M. Runnels (Jeannine) and Robyn R. Marques (Chris), as well as her adored grandchildren, Josh Marques (Hannah), Noah Marques (Brinley), Justin Runnels (Maddie), Jessica Runnels, and R.J. Runnels. She was predeceased by her cherished son, Richard H. Runnels Jr., and her brother, Claude C. Martin Jr.

Bonnie embraced the role of homemaker with grace and excellence, creating a warm and welcoming home where all felt loved and cared for. Her love for her family was her driving force, and she took immense pride in the accomplishments and happiness of her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
