Bobby Edgar Strickland, age 86, passed away peacefully at his home on March 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 16, 1939, to the late Dawson and Levert Strickland, Bobby was a man of deep faith who lived each day guided by Christian values and a servant’s heart. He cherished his relationship with God above all else and found great joy in mission work in Honduras, where he selflessly helped those in need.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bobby shared 64 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Charlotte Faye Strickland. He is survived by his children, Dale Boothe (Peggy), Michelle Hysaw, Jason Strickland (Shannon), Kaci Moore (Michael), and Christy Anders (Brian); his grandchildren, Kayla Barker, Karlee Marlowe (Nate), Anna McDaniel, Brody Hysaw, Braxton Hysaw, Sunnie Strickland, Devin Kelly, Alexis Kelly, Tyler Moore, Ellah Moore, Lee Anders, and Lily James Anders; and his great-grandchildren, Sawyer Marlowe and Sadie Marlowe. He is also survived by his siblings, Sue Thompson, Winfred Strickland, Tommy Strickland, Anita Ingram, Betty Kyzer, and Michael Strickland, as well as his cherished pet, Bella.
Bobby was an avid gardener, fisherman, and gifted craftsman who could build almost anything. He and Charlotte built and operated the family restaurant, The Front Porch, until their retirement. He took pride in raising Nigerian goats and show chickens, and he loved spending time outdoors. Known for his remarkable mind, selfless spirit, and warm companionship, Bobby was a friend to all and was lovingly called “PawPaw” by his family. He will be remembered as an outstanding husband, father, and patriarch who worked tirelessly for those he loved.
