Bobby Ronald McClendon, age 87, of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born on September 24, 1938, in Wilson, Oklahoma, to Ivron E. McClendon and Lola Mae (Morgan) McClendon, Bobby graduated from Wilson Public Schools with the Class of 1956 and later attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
In 1959, he married the love of his life, Shirley Beth McClendon. Their union of more than six decades was marked by deep affection, laughter, and countless shared memories. Drafted into the United States Army, Bobby completed basic training at Fort Carson, Colorado, and served his country while stationed in Germany.
He found great joy in the outdoors as an avid fisherman and hunter. Bobby also took pride in his craftsmanship, particularly knife making and woodworking, and he cherished opportunities to travel and explore new places. With a warm smile and engaging personality, he was often the life of the party, drawing people to him with his genuine spirit and love of good company.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Ivron E. and Lola Mae McClendon; his brother, Danny Otis McClendon; his niece, Belinda Ann McClendon; and his nephew, Steve Shores. He is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley Beth McClendon; his brother, Ivron Royce McClendon Sr. and wife Shirley Ann of Overbrook; his sister, Barbara Brown of Ardmore; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends, including lifelong companions Ronnie Patrick, Danny Wells, and Waylon Alexander. The family is especially grateful for the compassionate care provided by hospice nurses Markita, Angie, and Cindy during his final days.
