Bobby Lynn Rodgers, 78, of Lexington, Texas, passed away at home on the morning of March 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on October 7, 1947, in Beaumont, Texas, to Harry and Bessie (Shaver) Rodgers, Bobby graduated from high school before enlisting in the United States Army on October 23, 1967. He served with distinction until his honorable discharge on October 22, 1973, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Aircraft Crewman Badge. They married on May 29, 1976, at Faith Temple in Lexington and built a life together filled with devotion to family.

Bobby worked as an electrician in construction for 26 years. He cherished time spent on family vacations, trips to the beach, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, tending to his cattle, baling hay, and restoring old equipment. He enjoyed riding horses, participating in the Lexington and Rockdale parades, and helping family and friends with any project at hand. Family always came first for Bobby. He remained actively involved in his community through the American Legion Post 6, where he served as Past Post Commander, the Lee County Veterans Association, Farm Bureau Board, Lexington EMS & Fire, the 11th Armored Cavalry Veterans of Vietnam and Cambodia Blackhorse Association, and the Lexington Cemetery Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Garlan, Darrell, and Jacky Rodgers. Bobby is survived by his wife of nearly fifty years, Janice Ann Rodgers of Lexington; his sons, Bobby Lynn Rodgers Jr. and wife Shontel of Silsbee, Jared Rodgers and wife Tina of Lexington, and Blane Rodgers and wife Hailey of Lexington; eleven grandchildren; his sisters, Diane Tutt of College Station and Kaye Revia and husband Alford of Zavala; three sisters-in-law; and many dear friends and extended family members.
