Bobby Harold Lane, age 73, of Flintville, Tennessee, formerly of Cookeville, passed away on March 16, 2026. Born on April 4, 1952, to the late Elmus Burl and Mildred Lee Price Lane, Bobby lived a life defined by service, quiet strength, and deep devotion to family.

For 36 years, Bobby served with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, building meaningful relationships across Putnam and Jackson Counties. He was known for his high standards, professional excellence, and the genuine care he showed others, whether in uniform or out. His booming laugh and constant smile could light up any room, yet those who knew him respected his firm convictions and steadfast character.

He found peace in the woods while hunting and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren.

Bobby is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn; his daughter, Leslie Ann Lane (Kevin) Kimbrough; his siblings, Sandi Jernigan, Phyllis Moore, and Tim Lane; and his beloved grandchildren, Briana (Tristan) Hope, Trey (Eliza) Kimbrough, Serenity Kimbrough, Koda Kimbrough, Jake Kimbrough, Iris Kimbrough, and Zeke Kimbrough, as well as his great-granddaughter, Mattie Kimbrough. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Elisha Kimbrough.
