November 17, 1940— March 7, 2026
Oklahoma City, OK
Bobby O’Brien was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on November 17, 1940, and passed away in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on March 7, 2026, at the age of 85.
A man of discipline and quiet devotion, Bobby was known for his reliability, his love of storytelling, and his steadfast commitment to his family. With a Type A personality, he approached life with the belief that everything should be done well and done right—whether arriving fifteen minutes early to secure the best parking spot, keeping his hair perfectly in place, or maintaining order in all he did. He rarely missed a school event, always present to support those he loved, and worked hard to ensure his family never went without. His steady presence and thoughtful care left a deep impression on everyone closest to him.
Bobby had a natural gift for sharing memories from years past, often recounting his favorite stories with the same warmth and enthusiasm each time. He found joy in simple pleasures—Mexican food, afternoons spent fishing, and watching classic western television shows that reflected the values of hard work, loyalty, and grit he admired. At home, he took great pride in keeping a pristine yard, carefully mowing and tending the lawn while his wife cared for the garden, creating a home that reflected their shared love and attention to detail. Known for his fastidious nature, he kept everything around him spotless and organized. He also volunteered at the front desk of Integris Hospital, where his friendly demeanor and helpful spirit welcomed countless visitors. One of his proudest moments came when he finally acquired his “big truck,” allowing him to tow his fishing boat with greater ease and enjoy his time on the water even more.
Above all, Bobby will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend whose discipline, humor, and reliability shaped a life of quiet meaning. He showed up—for his family, for his friends, and for anyone who needed him—almost always fifteen minutes early.
He is survived by his wife Crescencia O’Brien, son Chase O’Brien, son Bobby R. Obien, daughter Crystal O’Brien, and brother Jimmy O’Brien. He was preceded in death by his mother Opal Mae O’Brien, father Raymond O’Brien, sisters Shirley and Betty, and brother Billy O’Brien.
