Robert leaves behind two sons, Christopher Elzer and wife Sheryll and Robert 'Bones' Elzer of Ottawa, Illinois. He leaves behind five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Melva Lange Elzer who died on October 9th, 2024 and his brothers: Henry Elzer, Arnold Elzer, Norman Elzer, William Elzer, and Joe Elzer and sisters' Jean Sawicki and Marian Tylk.Bob served his country in Korea and Vietnam and was awarded two bronze stars.Bob was an airplane enthusiast and owned his own cessna and loved flying until he decided to give it up at the ripe old age of 90.Bob worked as a mechanic for American Airlines for 32 years before his retirement.He was also an avid deer hunter and enjoyed hunting with his sons.He will be greatly missed by family and friends.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
