Bob Budd, age 80, a longtime resident of Joliet and formerly of Plainfield, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2026 at his home. Born on May 9, 1945 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a proud graduate of Elder High School. Bob honorably served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1972. He then dedicated twenty years to UPS, retiring as a district manager in 2002, before spending many rewarding years as a real estate broker with Coldwell Banker.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Bonnie; his loving sons, Robert (Jen) and Greg Budd; his cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Jacob, Corey, Dylan and Brody; his dear siblings, Connie (David) Lane and Tom Budd, and sister-in-law, Karen Buschmiller. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Julia Budd; his sisters, Rose Anne (the late Ron) Brown and Janet (the late Ronald) Hare, and sister-in-law, Lisa (John) Mauntel.
Bob found great joy in gardening and took pride in tending his vegetable garden, generously sharing its harvest with others. He also volunteered for many years making popcorn at Lakewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Plainfield. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and the quiet, steadfast ways he cared for his family and those around him. Most of all, he will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
