Blanche King Lacey

1926 — 2026

Gatlinburg, TN

Blanche King Lacey was born on August 11, 1926, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, to Oscar and Rodie King. She grew up as one of nine siblings—Ray, Mable, George, Otha, Riley, Roy, Faye, and Marie—and remained a lifelong resident of the area. A devoted Christian and longtime member of St. John United Methodist Church, Blanche spent many years working in customer service, first at the customer service booth in Foothills Mall and later in the fitting rooms at TJ Maxx. Her warm personality and genuine interest in others meant she never met a stranger, and she touched countless lives in her community through her kindness and fairness.

She was a loving wife to Lonas Lacey, taking great pride in his career at Alcoa and his involvement as a Shriner. Blanche doted on her family and found her greatest joys in her children, grandchildren, and especially her great-grandchildren Lennon, Marley, and Sutton. She cherished every moment spent with them, always reminding them how deeply they were loved and how much they brightened her days. Her strength, wisdom, and steadfast belief in goodness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband Lonas Lacey, and her children Sandra Hutson, Peggie Marks, and George Knell, along with many other dear relatives. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Martha Knell; granddaughters Morgan Locke, Allie Knell, Lindsey Marks, and Carrie Davis; grandsons-in-law Anthony Locke and Reid Davis; grandsons Patrick and Gabriel Hutson; great-grandchildren Lennon Breazeale, Marley Kyle, Sutton Davis, Jason Hutson, and Colin Hutson.
