Billy Wayne Veal

Billy Wayne Veal, 68, of Cullman, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. Born on August 27, 1957, to Billy Ray and Yvonne Veal, he was a lifelong resident of Cullman and a graduate of Fairview High School.

Billy was a talented songwriter with a deep passion for rock music. He also cherished sci-fi books and movies, and he followed sports with great enthusiasm. He remained a devoted Green Bay Packers fan during the Brett Favre era, watched any basketball game he could, and shifted his favorite team each season to whichever squad LeBron James played for. Above all, he was a fiercely loyal Alabama football fan who proudly proclaimed his allegiance to the Crimson Tide, a love that continued even after his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Ray and Yvonne Veal; his brother, Michael Veal; his sister, Debra Olinger; his grandchild, Meridian Jade Veal; and his nephew, Michael Ricky Olinger.

Billy is survived by his children, Shawn (Donita) Veal, Yvonne (Matthew) Sandomir, Nathan Veal, Cameron Veal, Wayne Veal, and Kerstyn White; his grandchildren, Marissa Legere, Mallory Legere, Gregory Veal, Bella Veal, Ayden Veal, and Madelyn Veal; his nieces, Sammi (Andrew) Arbet and Katrina Olinger; and his nephew, Chris (Amanda) Olinger.
